Baseball Splits with Western Nevada

SALT LAKE CITY (May 1, 2010) – The Salt Lake Community College baseball team split day one with Western Nevada winning the second game 8-5 and losing the first game 6-0. The Bruins are 31-15 overall and 22-11 in SWAC play. Mitch Manning was 2-3 with a double in game one and Jeremy Atkinson went six innings in the loss. In game two the bats came alive for Salt Lake led by Zack Swasey’s 3-5 performance with two RBIs. Alex Exon was 3-4 with a double and Kasey Carling was 2-3 with two RBIs. Josh Mooney picked up the save and Derek Christenson got the win. Salt Lake (31-15, 22-11 SWAC) looks to take the series as the face Western Nevada again tomorrow with a double header starting at noon at Cate Field. SLCC 0 SLCC 8 WNC 6 WNC 5
