Grand Junction, Colorado- The defending champs were unable to go on another postseason run as No. 9 seed Salt Lake (39-18) were eliminated from the JUCO World Series with a 9-3 loss to No. 3 seed Midland College.  Midland sprinkled in runs throughout the game as they scored in five different innings. The Chaparrals homered three times. Salt Lake also hit three blasts. AJ Thomas and Willy Roberts hit back-to-back home runs in the seventh inning and Kade Gambill hit a solo home run to lead off the ninth. Tyler West had another multi-hit game.  The Bru Cru played Midland College on February 9th and lost 19-9. Salt Lake Baseball won the Region 18 Championship and the West District Championship before making their second straight JUCO World Series appearance.  FOLLOW THE BRUINS! Grand Junction, Colorado- No. 9 seed Salt Lake (39-17) lost 13-3 in five innings to No. 2 seed Blinn College (46-12).   The Bruins scored the first three runs of the game as LF Lute Chavez hit a three-run home run. Blinn wasted no time and hit a solo home and a grand slam in the bottom of the first to take the lead once and for all. Blinn College hit three home runs in the game and had ten hits compared to Salt Lakes five. Beatrice, Nebraska- The 2025 JUCO World Series Champs are headed back to Grand Junction as the Bruins became the West District Champions for the second straight season.  Salt Lake lost to Central Arizona 6-4 to force a winner take all game. The Bruins took charge in their second game against the Vaqueros and won 8-1. Salt Lake scored three runs in the bottom of the first off a three-run homer from Drew Smith. After sac-fly's from Gage Wareham and from Tyler West, the Bruins led 5-0 after four innings. Kaden Hodson hit another blast and his two-run homer gave the Bruins a 7-1 lead after seven innings of play. In the eighth inning Wareham brought in the final run of the game with a fielder's choice RBI. Beatrice, Nebraska- 1B Kaden Hodson hit a grand slam with two outs in the ninth to tie the game and Salt Lake defeated Southeast Community College 7-6 in ten innings. LHP Mason Green pitched 5.1 scoreless innings in relief and earned the win. Beatrice, Nebraska The Bru Cru started off the 2026 West District with a 12-8 win over Northeastern Junior College.  Salt Lake plated five runs in the fourth and fifth innings. The Bruins added two big insurance runs in the bottom of the eighth. Salt Lake had 14 hits and CF Tyler West had five of them. West and 2B Gage Wareham both recorded three RBI. 1B Kaden Hodson and OF Willy Roberts both homered in the win. Hodson went 3-5 with three runs scored. Salt Lake City, Utah- The Salt Lake Baseball team had ten players make the 2026 All-Region teams, highlighted by RHP Easton Davies being named the SWAC Pitcher of the Year.  Easton Davies went (6-1) in 12 appearances with the starts. His season ERA of 2.58 is the third lowest in NJCAA D1 Baseball. Easton committed to the University of Oklahoma before the season started.  C AJ Thomas (.366 45 Hits), 2B Gage Wareham (.374 55 Hits), SS Drew Smith (.404 61 Hits) , 3B Riley Brown (.357 51 Hits), and OF Lute Chavez (.386 59 Hits) also made the All-Region First Team. 1B Kaden Hodson (.375 57 Hits), OF Tyler West (.378 76 Hits, OF Willy Roberts (.346 46 Hits), and DH Kade Gambill (.402 11 home runs) made the All-Region Second Team.  It is Region IX's turn to host the District Championship Tournament. The Bru Cru will head to Nebraska to Southeast Community College for Districts. Twin Falls, Idaho- No. 2 seed Salt Lake became the Region 18 Champions once again as they beat No. 1 seed Southern Idaho 12-4 in game two of the Region 18 Championship.  The Bru Cru had a ten run first inning and plated all ten runs with two outs. The first two batters of the game both got out. The next eleven Bruin batters reached base and sparked an improbable rally. RHP Austin Laycock benefited from the run support and gave up four runs in four innings of work. LHP Mason Green shutdown CSI with three scoreless innings pitched and three strikeouts.  Salt Lake had ten hits and LF Lute Chavez had four of them. Chavez went 4-4 with three RBI and two runs scored. C AJ Thomas hit a three-run home run and RF Willy Roberts hit a solo shot in the top of the fifth. Twin Falls, Idaho- No. 2 seed Salt Lake defeated No. 1 seed Southern Idaho 14-2 in six innings in game one of the Region 18 Championship.  CSI scored the first run and last run of the game, but the Bru Cru got control for good after plating two runs in the top of the second. Salt Lake scored four runs in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings. RHP Easton Davies pitched all six innings for Salt Lake. Davies was solid as he allowed two runs and five hits. The Oklahoma commit had five strikeouts and faced 24 batters total.  The Bruin offense totaled 13 hits in the big win. 1B Kaden Hodson homered and doubled as he went 3-4 with three RBI and three runs scored. C AJ Thomas went 2-2 with a triple, two walks, and two RBI. Thomas and RF Kade Gambill each scored four runs for the Bruins. West Jordan, Utah- No. 2 seed Salt Lake won game two versus No. 3 seed USU-Eastern 9-4 to advance to the Region 18 Championship series. .  USU-Eastern scored two runs in the top of the fifth to get the scoring started. The Bruins responded in the fifth with eight runs as they benefited from four errors in the inning that the Eagles committed. SS Drew Smith was 3-4 with three runs scored and two RBI. DH Kade Gambill and C AJ Thomas both went 2-4. 3B Riley Brown went 2-3.  RHP Austin Laycock earned the win and pitched six innings.
