SB: Bruins Are Heading to the National Tournament

TAYLORSVILLE, UTAH-CSI and SLCC faced off in the Region 18 Tournament Championship on Friday in what turned out to be a defensive battle. The Bruins received a complete game from pitcher Kylie Everill who also had a dazzling performance from behind the plate to help propel Salt Lake to the 3-1 victory.

SLCC first got on the board when Kylie Everill stroked a double to deep right center field and Madison Sisco hit a sac fly to deep outfield to bring Everill around and make it 1-0 Bruins. The two teams exchanged scoreless innings until the bottom of the sixth when Salt Lake was able to get two more runs on the board to give themselves a 3-0 lead heading into seventh inning.

Rather than make a pitching change, Salt Lake decided to stick with Everill to close out the game. The decision paid off as she was able to retire the side even after giving up one home run in the top of the seventh.

Kylie Everill was 3-3 from the plate with a double, two singles and an RBI while also throwing seven complete innings. She struck out five batters by mixing up her pitches and utilizing a nasty change up. Madison Sisco was 1-2 with an RBI and a stolen base.

The Bruins will now move on to the NJCAA National Tournament in St. George to play their way to a National Championship. Stay up to date with the ladies run to the title by following along here at SLCCBruins.com.
